Dyke is NOT a dirty word

Michelle Rodriguez.

In my opinion she has portrayed some gutsy and strong women.

In michelle’s opinion portraying these women has tattooed DYKE on her forehead. A ‘stigma’ she is eager to get shot off.

I have two main issues with this:-

1. Is the world so fucked up that they feel if a women is strong and doesn’t have to rely on a guy in a film then she must be a ‘dyke’?

2. What’s so wrong with being a ‘dyke’ anyways?

Yes Michelle is hot (on the outside anyways), but the real reason I like her is because she portrays women who are smart, self reliant and gutsy; a quality that is severly lacking in a lot of films.

Portraying these characters is a massively positive thing.

These characters show teenage girls that there is another option to being the ‘girlfriend’, the ‘supporting character’, or the ‘damsel in distress that needs rescuing’.

M Rod; I don’t give a shit if you’re gay, straight or asexual, that’s not why I watch your films. I watch because the characters you (sometimes) portray give me hope that young women will gain self confidence from seeing a strong, self reliant female tear up the screen.
